Psalmist Sylmac, a dedicated educator within the Long Beach Unified Schools system, has always harbored a deep-seated passion for music. With a rich background spanning 14 years as a classroom music teacher in her native Sierra Leone, she further honed her musical talents as a choir director within a non-denominational church community. Upon relocating to the United States in 1992, Psalmist Sylmac continued to share her musical gifts, serving as a music instructor at a Montessori School while also contributing her talents to the choir of Cottonwood Church in Los Alamitos, California. In March of 2020, inspired by her unwavering faith, Psalmist Sylmac embarked on a remarkable journey by establishing the Adonai Prayer Line—a daily one-hour forum for spiritual connection and devotion. This initiative has garnered participation from individuals across various states and even from the United Kingdom, providing a platform for heartfelt prayer, reflection, and communal worship. Each day, for twenty minutes, Psalmist Sylmac leads participants in praise and worship, her soulful melodies and piano accompaniment resonating with sincerity and devotion. Her profound love for the divine is evident in her fervent commitment to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, a mission she approaches with unyielding enthusiasm and dedication.
