From her early days in Sierra Leone, SylMac’s love for singing gospel songs and hymns was evident. She delighted in sharing this passion with her secondary school students, nurturing their musical talents and spiritual growth.
Inception of The Adonai Prayer Line
Amidst the onset of the pandemic in March 2020, SylMac felt a divine calling to establish a phone prayer line. Collaborating with supportive friends, they commenced daily sessions centered around praising and worshiping God, interspersed with prayers, praise reports, and prayer requests.
Musical Inspiration: “My Soul Sings”
During the summer of 2020, SylMac experienced a profound musical revelation. Awakening from sleep with a melody in her heart, she composed the uplifting chorus “My Soul Sings—Hallelujah!” This spontaneous creation resonated deeply with the prayer line community, prompting encouragement from her late husband to record and release it.
Spiritual Guidance: “The Lord’s Prayer”
In October 2022, divine inspiration struck again as SylMac received a tune for “The Lord’s Prayer” while driving home. Recording the melody, she shared it with her husband and later sang a portion at his homegoing service in February 2023, underlining the spiritual significance of her musical compositions.
Unified Worship Experience
On August 9, 2023, during the Adonai Prayer Line session, SylMac’s musical gifts facilitated a transformative worship experience. Leading praise and worship, her song “My Soul Sings” ignited a powerful spirit of worship among participants, culminating in a profound encounter with God.
Recording Journey
Moved by the spiritual impact of her compositions, SylMac embarked on a recording journey. Combining the chorus “My Soul Sings” with the tune for “The Lord’s Prayer,” she commenced the recording process, guided by a steadfast trust in God’s will.
